Prof Sampurno Bruijnzeel

Emeritus professor of Land Use and Hydrology, VU University Amsterdam and Visiting Senior Research Fellow, King's College London

Sampurno Bruijnzeel is a forest hydrologist specializing in the soil and water impacts of tropical land-use change, particularly deforestation and reforestation/rehabilitation of degraded land. He will co-lead the hydrological work.

Pepijn is a research volunteer from VU University. He has a background in Environmental Sciences and is currently pursuing a MSc in Hydrology. His research will focus on the impact of land use change on surface runoff and the permeability of the topsoil.

Nanne is a research volunteer from VU University. He has a background in Physical Geography and Sedimentology. He now studies hydrology. During his time in Madagascar he will focus mainly on the impact of land use change on preferential flow patterns and the abundance of soil macrofauna.
